Four Girl Bosses to Follow on Twitter!

Hey #bloomgirl! We know that sometimes you need that extra bit of inspiration to get through your week. We came up with a list of our favorite #girlbosses to add to your Twitter timeline! Hearing their stories gives us the extra motivation to push harder and follow our dreams. Check out these awesome women below and give them a follow!

1.) Aly Raisman

Aly Raisman, who is only 23 years old, became a household name after the 2012 Olympic Games in London. She was part of the “Fierce Five” gymnastics team that won the all-around gold in 2012 and went on to be captain of the “Final Five” in 2016 at the Rio Olympic Games where the team secured another gold medal.

Shortly after the Rio Olympic games, Aly released a book called Fierce: How Competing for Myself Changed Everything. Her book was on the best-seller charts for months and is still the #1 Best Seller in the Teen and Young Adult Sexual Abuse category on Amazon. Since the publishing of this book, Aly has been vocal about her struggles with sexual abuse. She has used her voice to speak up for those who felt that they couldn’t and became one of the faces of the Larry Nassar trial. It has now been months after the trial and Aly is still actively calling out the organizations who enabled the whole scandal. Her persistence to change the future for athletes under the USAG is admirable and inspiring. She uses social media as her main outreach method to connect with the gymnastics community so that she can continue implementing the changes necessary to reform the sport. Follow Aly here

2.) Ann Shoket

Seventeen Magazine is a magazine that has been there for us through our pre-teen and young adult years. However, many of the most loyal readers of Seventeen Magazine are now all grown up (or at least in college) and this is where former Editor-In-Chief of Seventeen Magazine, Ann Shoket, comes in. After spending seven years at Seventeen Magazine, Ann Shoket went on to publish a book called The Big Life- a guide to help us get through adulthood.

Her book is unique because it recognizes that millennial women want to carve their own paths rather than taking the conventional route that has been accepted by previous generations. She encourages her readers to find their passions, turn them into careers, and pursue them on their own terms. In addition to releasing her book, Ann Shoket has been very active on Twitter and Facebook where she shares inspirational and motivational content for women from all walks of life. Follow Ann here

3.) Emma Watson

Emma Watson is a name that many have recognized since she was cast in the Harry Potter films as everyone's favorite bookworm- Hermione Granger. From 2001, she has been in the spotlight but what many people tend to forget is that she never gave up on her education. In 2014, she graduated from Brown University with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature. During her time at Brown, she took two gap semesters so that she could take advantage of the opportunities she had in acting and fashion.

Her hard work and dedication to her education have paid off since she was recently appointed as a United Nations Women Goodwill Ambassador where she focuses on advocating for gender equality. She uses Twitter to raise awareness for movements such as #TimesUp and March for Our Lives while staying true to her passions for entertainment, media, and fashion. Follow Emma here

4.) Mel Robbins

Melanie "Mel" Robbins is an American on-air CNN commentator, television host, author, and motivational speaker. Mel is widely known for her book, The 5 Second Rule and that is how many of us at bloom know her best. Mel is the #1 Female Motivational Speaker in the World and was the Most Booked Speaker in 2017. Mel also just released her Audible Original series 'Kick-Ass with Mel Robbins'. Mel is a no-nonsense #girlboss that is always there to encourage and to give you the kick in the butt that you need! Follow Mel here
