Featured #bloomgirl: Brynn Close; Miss Delaware Teen USA!
This month's featured #bloomgirl is Brynn Close, Miss Delaware Teen USA! We are so inspired by Brynn's passion and dedication. Read more below about how Brynn spreads so much kindness and positivity through her actions and hard work!
Tell us a little about yourself!
I am currently a senior in High School at Ursuline Academy. I will further my education next fall at The University of Tennessee majoring in electronic media & journalism! I stay busy in a variety of ways. I played many sports growing up from field hockey, to lacrosse, cross country, track, ice skating... you name it I've done it! I have competed in pageants for the past three years & they have been a great way for me to find what I am passionate about, which is volunteering. I love to give back to my community whenever I get the opportunity. Putting a smile on others faces & making someone else's day is what life is truly about. Simple actions & kind words can make a huge difference in the lives of others. Pageants have allowed me to connect with people of all ages, ethnicities & backgrounds learning each of their unique and inspiring stories.
Who or what is your biggest inspiration?
My biggest inspiration is Allie LaForce. She had held two of my dream jobs; a news reporter & Miss Teen USA! I'm pretty obsessed with her haha! She works in a male dominated field but has proved that women can too work & succeed in the media industry. She has both beauty & brains & has proven that smart is in fact beautiful!
What are some of the biggest challenges you face? How have you overcome them?
One of the biggest challenges that I have ever faced was placing 1st Runner Up at Miss Delaware Teen USA 2 years ago. While placing 1st Runner Up was a huge accomplishment I was also disappointed being so close yet so far from the title. I knew I had to follow my heart & compete again the following year. Thank goodness I followed my gut because here I am the following year, your Miss Delaware Teen USA 2018. I overcame this challenge by working hard & staying motivated. I had a vision & goal in mind & was willing to do anything in my power to chase my dream. Each day & I practiced & trained for my upcoming pageant. My obstacle & setback only made me more motivated & driven to reach my goal. Here I am a year later & all of my hard work & dedication payed off. I turned my obstacle into motivation to inspire me to work harder & be more resilient.
If you could talk to yourself 5 years ago, what advice would you give yourself?
If I could talk to myself 5 years ago I would've told myself that it is okay to be different & stand out from the crowd. One of my favorite quotes is "No one is you & that is your power." This quote speaks volume in itself. You are the only version of yourself. You are unique for a reason. You are not meant to fit in with the crowd, rather be your own person & embrace all of your differences that make you beautiful! Here I am 18 years old & I embrace all of my differences with a full heart & realize that everyone is beautiful in their own way! #ConfidentlyBeautiful
What are your favorite bloom products and why?
My favorite Bloom products are their super cute Classic Daily Planners! Being a full-time student, athlete, working a part-time job, and as your reigning Miss Delaware Teen USA, my schedule can be a bit hectic at times. bloom planners help me to better organize my schedule so that I know when & where I am supposed to be on any given day!
