bloom Welcomes 3 New Interns!

We had the pleasure of hiring three students from the University of Delaware to make up our Social Media Team for this fall! Amanda, Melissa, and Caroline all bring their own unique and special talents to bloom and we are so lucky to have them! As social media interns, their roles are to help manage and create content for all of the blooms online platforms and they will get the opportunity to interact with our #bloomgirls via social media conversations. They’ll get to take a behind the scenes look into bloom’s social media and gain valuable social media marketing experience! We interviewed each girl to get to know them a little better!

Caroline

Caroline is a Senior Fashion Merchandising Major.  She just finished up her junior year studying at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City! Caroline is a native of Harrison, New York.

What does bloom mean to you?

To me, bloom is a reminder that you can always better yourself one day at a time. The bloom community and the amazing group of people in the office are my constant reminder that I can do whatever I put my mind to!

What are some of your favorite social media sites?

Instagram! It’s my guilty pleasure and I could spend hours looking at different product pages and beautiful pictures from all around the world.

What kinds of things do you do in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy drinking way too much coffee, going to the gym (to socialize), and traveling. I have been to 6 different countries and soon to be 7! This winter I will be studying abroad in Greece. I enjoy exploring new places, whether it’s a new country or a 3-hour adventure home to see my family. I have two younger brothers but you would never know I am the oldest because I am also the shortest! 

What is your favorite bloom product and why?

Definitely the Daily Planning System Pad! Everyday brings a new challenge and there is always so much to do. This pad has become part of my morning routine (in addition to my coffee) to plan out my day before it begins!

What is your favorite quote and why?

“Best day ever.”

My cousin Anthony used to say it all the time and it just came to show me that everyday can be your best day ever, if you let it be. This keeps me positive and hopeful to make everyday, my best day.

Caroline is a driven, passionate, and positive person who always sees the glass half full! She is the perfect addition to our bloom team! 

Amanda

Amanda is a Senior Marketing Major with Minors in International Business & Advertisement and a native of Danbury, Connecticut!

What does bloom mean to you?

bloom to me is the daily reminder that there is beauty in all of the positivity that you put out into the world. My time at bloom as taught me the value of focusing on the highlights of my day as opposed to being dragged down by the lows; a message that I hope to pass on to family and friends.

What are some of your favorite social media sites?

As a millennial, I eat, sleep, and breathe the digital world. My favorites are Instagram and Pinterest. I love how Instagram is based purely on visuals as opposed to long, text heavy posts. But, if I am truly looking to be inspired, Pinterest is definitely the place to visit!

What kinds of things do you do in your free time?

Apart from school, I love to spend my time reading, shopping, chitchatting over coffee, and exploring new places; I will actually be spending this upcoming winter in Thailand & Australia! On the weekends, I like to spend time with my 5 crazy roommates who I have grown to consider my sisters. On long weekends, I like to make the 4-hour journey home to see my family and my new puppy, Lola! How cute is she?!

What is your favorite bloom product and why?

My absolute staple product would be my "Writefully His" Academic Daily Planner. I have always been picky with my planners, but find these to be a perfect fit! The space in the margins gives me extra room for my loopy handwriting, and the monthly planner page lets me see all of my school assignments well ahead of time. I also love all of the inspirational quotes on the inside that motivate me through my busiest of days.

What is your favorite quote and why?

“Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game”

The love this quote because it reminds me that no dreams are too big, and that you are only hurting yourself by not going for them. No one should ever be discouraged by the fear of failure, and I think this saying does a beautiful job of summarizing just that!

Amanda is organized, polished, and professional. We are so blessed to have her apart of the team!

Melissa

Melissa is a Marketing and International Business Double Major and she is minoring in Italian. Melissa is from Old Bridge, New Jersey.

What does bloom mean to you?

bloom is uplifting! It’s a community of people that want to help you achieve your goals, and not just by using their products. I feel that energy and sincerity every time I’m in the office.

What are some of your favorite social media sites?

Instagram has to be my favorite. I love how visual is it and how easy it is to find interesting people to follow. I also spend a lot of time searching through LinkedIn. It’s an amazing tool for keeping up with what’s changing in the job market.

What kinds of things do you do in your free time?

I’m a member of a service sorority, so I’m involved in different community service projects. I also manage a Twitter page for UD (#alwaystweeting) and that requires me to attend random events on campus. I love it because it keeps me so well connected! Last semester, I studied abroad in Rome and fell in love with traveling and experiencing new cultures (especially the food!). 

What is your favorite bloom product and why?

My Mint Damask Academic Daily Planner is always with me! I always have a million to do lists all over the place, so I love the pocket in my planner to keep them all in one spot.

What is your favorite quote and why?

“What’s meant to be will always find a way.”

I know you’ve all heard this one a million times, but it’s something I always try to remember. I’m definitely a person that plans and likes to feel prepared at all times, but I try to remember to have faith that things will work themselves out.

Melissa is smart, hardworking, and creative! We can already feel bloom growing with her on the team! 

These girls are already off to a great start! We are so thankful for their creativity, ideas, hard work, inspiration, open minds, and willingness to bloom!! We can't wait to see all they accomplish this year!
