It’s that time of year again where we get into the mindset of holiday shopping! With Black Friday and Cyber Monday just around the corner, it's easy to get swept up in loads of shopping! We want to encourage you to remember gratitude and giving back during this busy shopping time. We wanted to shed the light on some amazing brands that have incorporated a charitable component to their company’s mission. Below we've compiled a list of 8 brands have amazing give-back programs. Check out our list below to check off some gifts on your holiday to-do list and give back to some amazing causes!

1.) Headbands of Hope

Headbands of Hope was started by Jess Ekstrom after an internship in Disney World. During Jess's internship in, she got to photograph kids that were there on their wish from various wish-granting organizations for kids with life-threatening illnesses. This experience ignited a spark in Jess to do something to help these kids feel confident and beautiful during such a tough time! She remembered the trend of patients wearing headbands. She discovered that no one was providing those accessories to the kids. To fulfill this need, Jess created Headbands of Hope during her junior year of college at North Carolina State University. For every headband she'd sell, she'd donate one to a child with cancer! Since it's founding in 2012, Headbands of Hope has donated headbands to every children's hospital in America and 15 countries! Learn more about Headbands of Hope, here

2.) The Tote Project

Co-Founders, Fay Grant and Michelle Chavez, founded the Tote Project to end modern-day slavery and help survivors recover to move towards their dreams. Their logo, a blue rose, symbolizes the fight towards ending human trafficking and attaining the impossible for the victims. More important, the blue rose is a symbol of hope and never giving up the fight to end modern day slavery. They are more than just a brand that sells cute totes! The Tote Project provides educational tools to educate customers about sex trafficking and labor trafficking. They ensure their customers that the totes are created by disadvantaged women who are given the opportunity to work in an ethical work environment. In addition to the work environment, 10% of all revenue is donated to Two Wings, which aims to end sex trafficking and rehabilitate survivors.

You have to check out our personal favorite tote, Free To Bloom Pouch!

3.) Yuhme

Yuhme started with co-founders and couple, Alex and Alex. They were inspired to make a difference in the world and set an example for their children. They found inspiration to start Yuhme from the book, Start Something That Matters by Blake Mycoskie. Alex and Alex are both former athletes so they knew their product would have to do with something sports related, and that would appeal to every sport. So, there they had it- a water bottle! The couple was already well aware of the impact the lack of water has in some of the most impoverished countries in the world, and particularly children in Africa. They also knew they wanted to make a product that was environmentally friendly because in their words, "there is no point to give with one hand but contribute to another problem (global warming), with the other." After much work and research, they landed on the right materials and connected with the non-profit organization, Water For Good. Each bottle purchased from Yuhme provides 6 months of clean water to one person in the Central African Republic via their partner Water for Good!

They call themselves a “marketplace for good- where every purchase makes a difference”. 7.) Skyline Socks

Did you know that socks are the most requested item at homeless shelters? Skyline Socks aims to satisfy this need with their brand. With a shortage of socks, the homeless is exposed to a number of diseases during the winter season. For each pair of socks sold, Skyline Socks donates another pair to people in need. They go beyond just homeless shelters by also giving back to nonprofits, veterans, and deployed military men and women.

We can’t help but love their Philadelphia Socks!

8.) Ivory Ella

With a mission to offer high-quality clothing that makes people feel good about buying, Ivory Ella does just that by donating 10% of their annual profit to elephant conservation, health, childhood education, social services, and veteran charities. Ivory Ella started back in 2015 during a time where not only elephants were being highlighted in the news of being mistreated, but a time where people were growing a community around supporting everything about elephants. The founders considered this an opportunity to not only create clothing that people would like to wear but also to help nurture the lives of elephants. Since then, Ivory Ella has seen crazy growth and has donated over 1.6 million dollars to Save the Elephants and other charitable causes.
