General Digital Planning FAQs
Check out our growing FAQs below and contact us with additional questions!
Digital planning is an amazing new way to enjoy the convenience of paper planning on your tablet and other electronic devices. Instead of using physical planners, digital planners come as linked PDFs designed to look just like a real planners! Clickable links allow you you to easily navigate and "flip" through your planner pages electronically. These PDFs can be uploaded onto specialized apps (listed below) where you can annotate and mark up your planner to suit your needs. While features depend on the app you choose to use them with, you can generally use a stylus to write, add text boxes and move them around, and even add digital stickers to decorate. If you are using your digital planner on multiple devices with the same apps & operating systems (ex: GoodNotes app on your iPad, desktop, and iPhone), any updates will automatically sync across all devices to easily reference on the go!
We recommend using our digital planners in the GoodNotes app via an iPad/tablet for best ease of use. These files are also compatible with any other note taking apps (Notability, PDF Pro, Xodo, *OneNote, and more!) and can be used on a desktop, laptop, and/or mobile devices as well.
*Please note that OneNote will deactivate the automatic hyperlinks in the pdfs and you will have to re-create them yourself.
Yes, most note taking apps / software do have an annual charge for their software beyond any free trials. You can see GoodNotes pricing info on their website here. We do recommend using GoodNotes as it's the most popular PDF reading app and really easy to use, but our digital planners are compatible with any PDF reading app! You can price compare a few other options from the list in the question above, but there are always new options being added to the market. If you're looking for a 100% free PDF reading solution we have personally tried, we'd recommend trying Xodo! We have a few tutorials on how to import and use your planner in Xodo here.
Yes! Our digital stickers are slightly easier to import into GoodNotes as the purchase includes a pre-made GoodNotes booklet that streamlines the upload process of the planner and the stickers together. Our digital planners can be used with any PDF reading app, though, and our stickers can be used with anything that will allow for PNG importing! You would just need *individually import* the PDF and the sticker PNGs into the app of anything besides GoodNotes. See question above for other app options. Please see more apps we recommend in the question above.
Yes! We love using tablets so you can write in them like a physical planner, but you can absolutely use a laptop or desktop, too. You would simply use the text box vs. a pen tool to add text. We love GoodNotes for Mac as it works great!
If you're not using GoodNotes, your planner download does also come with additional hyperlinked PDFs that could be used on a laptop or desktop with the full version of adobe reader, but it’s not quite the same effect.
All digital items are instant downloads. Upon purchase, a PDF will be immediately emailed to you with the links to the files and these import instructions:

If you're not using GoodNotes: Using GoodNotes simply streamlines the import process, but these files are compatible with ANY note-taking app/PDF reader! If you're using a different app, instead of downloading the .goodnotes file from DropBox, use the steps above to download all other files instead (all PDFs and PNGs). Manually import these into the app of your choice!

The GoodNotes file included with purchase has all stickers pre-inserted in booklet form which just makes import a bit easier. Our digital stickers are compatible with all other note-taking apps, though! If you're not using GoodNotes, simply download the folder of individual .PNG sticker images and import those into the PDF reader/application of your choice!
Digital planners are not cloud based and do not sync or link with digital calendars like Google Calendar or iCal. You will need to add all items in just like in a regular planner. Digital planning does allow you to easily copy/paste recurring events much faster than re-writing them though! Other notes and workarounds:
For security purposes, there is a 3 download limit on each link you receive after digital purchases.
Because these are instant downloads, all sales are final and we cannot offer refunds on any digital items. Thank you for understanding!
While we do not offer refunds on digital items, we are now offering a free sample of our 2025 classic digital planner for users to "play" with :) You can download it here, test out the usability, and purchase the full current version if it feels like a good fit. Enjoy!
GoodNotes Specific FAQs
While our digital planners work with many apps (noted above) we do recommend using GoodNotes for ease of use. Here are some GoodNote specific FAQs!
Yes! We love using tablets so you can write in them like a physical planner, but you can absolutely use a laptop or desktop, too. You would simply use the text box vs. a pen tool to add text. We love GoodNotes for Mac as it works great!
(This is the same process as selecting your cover above)
• Use the lasso tool to select what sticker(s) you want, press and hold until the option pops up to copy them
• Navigate to the page you want to use them on (all tabs are hyperlinked for easy navigation.) Once you are on the page, click and hold until options pop up, and hit paste.
• You can resize each sticker by clicking and holding until options pop up, selecting edit, and resizing as needed
All tabs are hyperlinked! Here is a helpful guide:
We are Apple product users here and have recently heard from some customers that hyperlinks are not working for them when using GoodNotes for Android. We opened a ticket with GoodNotes are were so surprised to hear that GoodNotes hyperlinks aren't yet supported on Android devices. We have added a disclaimer to all digital planner listings now that we're aware and are hopeful they update this soon!
If your hyperlinks are not working please, please check the following:
If the above hasn’t worked, long press on the hyperlink that isn’t currently working. You should see an option that says “open link”. Tap this and it should jump to the relevant page. If it works using this method but not in read-mode, then there is a bug in Goodnotes 5. For our customers, please let us know and we will raise this with Goodnotes. If the “open link” option doesn’t come up, we recommend you try to reimport the planner. If after all this it still doesn’t come up, it is likely to be a Goodnotes bug. For our customers, please let us know and we will raise this with Goodnotes.
The regular undo function doesn’t work if you delete a page, but there is still a way! Go to the dashboard, tap the cog icon and then go to trash bin, you can select the page/planner you want to restore and then recover. It will go directly to the place it was when deleted.
Goodnotes allows you to add pages to your planner to take additional notes or to include template pages. If you need to add a page to your planner, you can do this by tapping the add page tool in the top right of Goodnotes (a paper shape with + icon inside). You will then be given the choice of adding the current template you are on or you can select a different Goodnotes template or document.
If you are looking to copy/paste another page in the planner, you can do this instead by going to the pages section by tapping the 4 squares icon in the top left. You can then tap “Select” and then choose the pages you wish to copy.
• Once in GoodNotes, the first page has a few planner cover options to choose from
• Use the lasso tool and select the cover you like best
• Press and hold until options pop up to copy that cover
• Slide to next page, then click and hold until options pop up to paste the cover onto that page
• You can then resize the image by clicking and holding on the cover image until options pop up. Select edit. You can then resize your image to fit that empty space.
• Once you have selected your cover, you can delete that first page if you'd like by going to the 4 squares at the top left of your screen, hitting select, choosing the first page, and then hitting trash. You can then close out of that dialogue box (this will make your thumbnail just the cover you chose vs the page of options)
