Tell us a little bit about yourself!

My name is Brittany Brown and I run the Britt Around Town platform on Instagram and Facebook. I have a passion for taking photos and it means the world to me to be able to use that love to help others in the process. I was born and raised in Bucks County, PA and have a tremendous amount of love for all things local. As a Disney College Program Alumni, I have a “Mousters Degree” in Disney History and Leadership and am an avid Disney fan. In my spare time I love to travel, go for walks and explore new places, kayak down the Delaware River, visit theme parks, and create new memories with my family, friends and husband.

Britt has helped bring bloom planner donation to many groups in Bucks County including, Rise and Grind Cafe

How did you get your start into blogging?

My history with blogging has been quite the adventure over the past few years. I started blogging on Instagram for fun back in 2017 as a way to stay accountable on my weight loss journey for my wedding and officially began in the Fall of 2018 when I became a social media ambassador for my old gym. Not long after I began posting on social media to raise awareness for the Pine2Pink foundation – a local organization that raises money for local breast cancer patients. Through Pine2Pink, I got to meet a bunch of local business owners and found places in Bucks County that I never knew existed – that’s when I decided to start my current platform, @britt_around_town, in October of 2019 to highlight the local businesses and fun things to do in our community. In addition to using Instagram as my main location for my blogging, I became an official blogger for Visit Bucks County in February 2020 and submit articles to be posted on their “From The Locals” blog.

Who or what is your biggest inspiration?

Walt Disney has always been one of my biggest role models in my life. He visualized his dreams and never let anyone or anything stand in the way of making them come true. These days, local and small businesses are my inspiration. They are getting creative and fighting hard to keep their businesses afloat during the current pandemic. They inspire me to keep going and are the main drive behind my posts. Nothing makes me happier than people sending me messages letting me know they visited a business at my recommendation or the businesses thanking me for bringing them new customers. It truly warms my heart.

What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced, personally or professionally? How have you overcome it?

I am involved in a TON of things and often find myself taking on too many things at once. One of my biggest challenges has been finding time to balance my full time job, my 3 volunteer positions, my blogging, self-care, family time and maintaining a social life. I’ve relied heavily on my planners to keep me in check and can’t commit to any plans without consulting with it first. While time management isn’t something that I have completely overcome quite yet, mostly because I enjoy piling on new tasks, it has become much more manageable thanks to my love of planner products.

If you could talk to yourself 5 years ago, what advice would you give yourself?

If I could talk to myself 5 years ago I would tell myself that life takes you on some crazy adventures and that the world will lead you to exactly where you are meant to be – even if it isn’t what you had once imagined. 5 years ago, I was convinced that I knew where my life was heading. Since then, I have changed personal and career goals at least 3 times until things fell into place for me on their own. Through trial and error, I now have a better understanding of who I am, what I want out of life and what I’m meant to be doing. My advice to myself would be to always stay positive, give your best effort in everything you do, follow your heart and learn from life’s lessons throughout the journey.

What are your favorite bloom products, and why?

I was first drawn to bloom by their fabulous stickers. I’m the type of planner that needs to spice up each page with corresponding stickers and bloom’s stickers always were the best of the best around! The product that has most recently become the object of my affection is their hard cover full year, Undated Daily To-Do List Planner. With being involved in so many activities, the basic blank line style planner no longer fits my needs. I love the bound to-do planner because it allows me to track my events by hour, list my to-dos, and also track my health and fitness each day as well. Other bloom products that I use on a daily basis are the wall calendars, Meeting Notes Planning Pad, and Empowerment Cards. Finally, I am a huge fan of bloom’s Pregnancy Planner and have begun purchasing one as gifts every time someone in my life announces the big news!
