Thanksgiving Recipes for Every #bloomgirl!

Thanksgiving is coming up, and if you are anything like me, then you cannot wait to eat all of the delicious festive foods! Whether you’re a turkey person or rather stick to the cranberry sauce, everyone has that one awesome recipe that they can’t have Thanksgiving without. I decided to put together a little list of some really awesome recipes that are sure to be hits! 

Festive Party Drinks

The best way to kickoff the night is with a festive drink that is perfect for autumn. This Sparkling Apple Cider Sangria is always a fan favorite, and is super simple.

What you’ll need:

  • 2 apples
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 ½ cups of apple cider
  • 1 cup of club soda
  • ½ cup disaronno
  • 1 bottle of champagne

The Kids Table   

Nothing appeals more to kids than something fun, festive, and of course chocolaty; give these simple and adorable Reese’s Turkeys a try this year!

What you’ll need:

  • Reese’s peanut butter cups (full size)
  • Reese’s dark peanut butter cups miniatures
  • 48 reese’s pieces
  • 16 candy eyes
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Eat Till’ You’re Stuffed

Every wonder how anyone could not like stuffing? You’ll be shaking your head at anyone who passes up this savory dish! Slow Cooker Stuffing will be all you can think about! You’ll be going back for seconds, thirds, and maybe even fourths! Hey, it is called stuffing after all! It may be slow cooked, but it won’t last long once it hits the table.

What you’ll need:

  • 2 lbs hearty white sandwich bread , diced into pieces between 1/2 and 3/4-inch thick, or 15 cups store-bought dried unseasoned bread cubes
  • 2 - 3 1/2 cups low-sodium chicken broth , as needed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt , or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper , or to taste
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter , diced into 1 Tbsp pieces
  • 2 cups chopped yellow onion
  • 2 cups chopped celery
  • 1 cup chopped carrot (dice small)
  • 1 large clove garlic , minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley , plus more for garnish
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp chopped fresh sage (or 2 1/2 tsp dried)
  • 1 Tbsp chopped fresh thyme (or 1 tsp dried)
  • 1 Tbsp chopped fresh marjoram (or 1 tsp dried)
  • 2 tsp chopped fresh rosemary (or 1/2 tsp dried, crushed)

The Healthy Eater 

For those of you trying to stay healthy around the holidays I commend you, you are much stronger than I am. However, healthy alternatives aren’t all too hard to find and by no means have to be boring. Checkout this Roasted Sweet Potato and Butternut Squash side dish that will capture the hearts of all veggie lovers.

What you’ll need:

* Recipe is also gluten free

  • 1 lb brussels sprouts
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 sweet potato (1 pound), large
  • 1 thyme, fresh
  • 1/4 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 pepper
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. salt

A Sweet Ending

This isn’t your grandmother’s pumpkin pie or your aunt’s cheesecake…this is the hybrid of both! If you love pumpkin and the creamy texture of cheesecake, you’ll be hooked on this Chocolate Pumpkin Cheesecake! What better time to whip up this decadent treat than at you family’s Thanksgiving feast?! That’s what we call a sweet ending!

What you’ll need:

  • 3 8-oz. blocks cream cheese, softened
  • 1 15-oz. can pumpkin purée
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. light brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. sour cream
  • 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. kosher salt

FOR THE OREO CRUST

  • 24 whole oreos
  • 6 tbsp. melted butter

FOR SERVING

  • 1/4 c. semisweet chocolate chips, melted
  • 1/4 c. Caramel
  • whipped cream or Cool Whip
